The main advantage of CDDs is the ability to effectively finance major capital improvements by meeting regulatory agency requirements as stable, perpetual entities.
All CDDs are governed by Chapter 190, Florida Statutes and are subject to the requirements of the public records law.CDDs must make District records available for public inspection during normal business hours. In addition to all of the disclosure, records and meetings requirements, the District is required to submit its budget annually to Hillsborough County who has the option to review and comment on it. The District currently has General Liability and Errors & Omissions Policy with the Florida League of Cities, Inc.Areas 3 and 7 also have Property and Equipment coverage.
