Please note:

  • In 2022, a Plant City election will not be held because there were no contested seats.
  • Florida is a “closed primary” state. That means only voters registered with a political party may vote in that party’s Primary Election. You can change your party affiliation by submitting an updated Voter Registration Application at any time, but the change must be made 29 days before a Primary Election in order to be valid for that election. All registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote on issues and nonpartisan races during a Primary Election. Your party does not affect your ballot for any election other than a Primary Election.

Updating Voter Information

It’s important to keep your name, residential address, mailing address, and party affiliation up to date. Your current residential address determines the issues and candidates that will be on your ballot. You may also include a different mailing address for us to use when sending elections-related materials, including your Vote By Mail ballot, if you request one.

Your party affiliation will affect which candidates are on your ballot during Primary Elections. Florida has closed primaries, which means that you must be registered with a political party in order to vote in that party’s Primary Election. You may change your party affiliation at any time, but it must be done 29 days before a Primary Election in order to be valid for that election. You may also choose “No Party Affiliation” if you prefer not to be affiliated with a party. In that case, any nonpartisan races or issues included in the Primary Election will be on your ballot. More information about party affiliation can be found here.
